Fidan: Membership in the European Union is a strategic goal for Türkiye

While emphasizing his country’s support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine, the Turkish Foreign Minister said that Ankara supports all efforts to achieve peace.

Hakan Fidan stated that Turkey wants international laws to be implemented both in the North and South of the world, and in this regard, Ankara is trying to stop the genocide of Palestinians by the occupying Zionists in Gaza should end as soon as possible.

Türkiye’s Foreign Minister stated: We demand a stop to Israel’s attacks on Lebanon. Israel cannot achieve peace and security by killing civilians. If we want to establish peace and security in Israel and the entire Middle East (West Asia), we as the international community should support the Palestinians to establish their country in their own lands.

Fidan then thanked Latvia for its sincere support for Turkey’s accession to the European Union and said: “membership in the European Union is a strategic goal for Turkey.” We need the political will to develop our relations with the European Union in a constructive and result-oriented way. We hope that the European Union will adopt the same clear position and determination.
