Peskov: Russia did not interfere in Georgian elections
According to Webangah News quoted by Mehr News Agency quoted by Tass, Russian Presidential Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov announced on Monday regarding the Georgian elections that Russia does not interfere in Georgia’s internal affairs.
Pskov emphasized that the agents of many European countries and institutions tried to influence the voting results in the Georgian elections.
According to the Kremlin spokesman, no one hid such interference in Georgian elections because public statements were published in this regard.
Pskov continued to emphasize that, however, Russia does not interfere in Georgia’s internal affairs and does not intend to do so.
Georgian parliamentary elections were held on Saturday, October 26. The Central Election Commission of this country announced on Sunday that after counting 99% of the votes, the ruling party “Georgian Dream” won 54.2% of the votes in the parliamentary elections. Also, the three opposition parties won about 37% of the votes.
Early this year, the opposition coalition launched several large street demonstrations against the government; Demonstrations held in protest against the “Foreign Factors” bill.
Both the ruling party and the opposition coalition have warned against possible interference in the elections, and the ruling Georgian Dream Party has said Bode is worried about US interference in the elections.
