An armed attack on a vaccination center in Pakistan/a policeman was killed
At least one security force has been killed after gunmen attacked a polio vaccination center in northwestern Pakistan.
reported by Mohammed Zeeshan Khan, the deputy coordinator of the Pakistan Polio Vaccination Headquarters, said that around 13 members of the vaccination team were present at the time of the attack.
According to him, contact with local authorities has been stopped in order to ensure the health and safety of the teams based in the region during the vaccination process.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for this attack. Although polio has been eradicated almost all over the world, it still claims victims in Pakistan. This country, along with its neighbor, Afghanistan, are the only countries where polio cases are still reported.
