Nabih Bari: There is no intention to change the text of Resolution 1701

The Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament emphasized the implementation of Resolution 1701 without any changes.

According to Webangah News quoted by Mehr News Agency quoted by Al-Nashrah, the speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, “Nabieh Bari” in an interview with Al-Sharq Al-Awsat newspaper, mentioned the details of a possible ceasefire between Lebanon and the Zionist regime.

Nabieh Bari emphasized: Despite Lebanon’s official delay in going ahead with the results, I would like to remind everyone of the generalities we reached with the American envoy Amos Hockstein. do These details are related to the ceasefire and the presence of the Lebanese army in the southern regions in preparation for the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701.

The speaker of the Lebanese Parliament emphasized: These steps are aimed at preventing any thoughts unrelated to the talks. There is no intention to change the text of Resolution 1701. What is written is written and we will not change even a single word of it.

He also denied that Hockstein referred to Resolution 1559 or the replacement of the international emergency forces present south of the Litani River with forces of different nationalities.

Lebanese parliament speaker stated that the discussion on all points related to the ceasefire, the presence of Lebanese army forces and the implementation of Resolution 1701 has been completed and he is waiting for an agreement between Hochstein and Benjamin Netanyahu, the prime minister of the Zionist regime, is concerned about these issues.

Nabieh Bari emphasized: As soon as Hochstein and Netanyahu reach an agreement, Lebanon is ready to adhere to the agreements made. The necessary guarantees for the implementation of the agreement must be provided.

The Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, referring to Netanyahu’s rejection of the US and France’s request for a ceasefire, continued: “Now the ball is in the court of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.”
