Accordingly, after several months of struggle and failure to reach a consensus on a particular candidate, finally in the competition between Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani and Salem Al-Eisawi Al-Mashhadani won the highest number of votes among the Iraqi legislators.
During this voting ceremony, out of 269 votes, 183 legislators voted for Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani, and thus he became the head of the Iraqi parliament with the majority of votes. .
Mohammed Kazem Al-Sadegh, Iran’s ambassador to Iraq, congratulated Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani on his election as the head of the Iraqi parliament after this incident.
