American pressure on Qatar to expel Hamas resistance leaders from Doha

A Qatari newspaper has revealed that US officials have pressured Qatar to deport Hamas leaders in Doha.

According to the report of Khobarzai Mehr, an American official told Qatar’s “Al-Sharq” newspaper: “After the Hamas movement rejected the American offer to release the Israeli hostages, we informed Qatar that the presence of Hamas leaders in Doha is no longer acceptable.

This official, who asked not to be named, repeated the claim of the American authorities regarding the Hamas resistance movement and claimed: It is no longer appropriate for the leaders of Hamas to be in the capital of any of the allies. America should be accepted and welcomed, and we informed Qatar about this issue weeks ago after Hamas rejected our last offer to release the hostages.

This American official added: Qatar has played an substitute role to mediate in the case of hostages. As Doha played a key role in securing the release of about 200 hostages last year.
