The perpetrator of the leak of secret information of the Ukrainian war was sentenced to 15 years in prison
reported by Mehr News Agency quoted by Rashatodi, a court in Boston sentenced Jack Teixeira, a former member of the US Air National Guard, to 15 years in prison for the crime of publishing a secret document related to the war in Ukraine online.
In March, Teixeira pleaded guilty to six charges related to the purposeful storage and transfer of national defense information under the “Espionage Act” Act of 1917.
While serving as a distinguished pilot in the Massachusetts Air National Guard, he posted images of several classified documents on Discord. These documents contained confidential information about the war in Ukraine, as well as information about the training of Ukrainian forces in the United States and the transfer and delivery of Western military equipment to Kiev.
In April 2023, the information leak became public and angered Kiev and Washington. A senior US official told the Washington Post at the time that “we are shocked and outraged.”
