Putin: Any agreement on Ukraine must protect Russia’s security interests

According to the Kremlin report, Vladimir Putin emphasized during a telephone conversation with Olaf Schultz: Russia has never refused to talk and is still ready to resume talks on Ukraine.
Putin continued the phone conversation with Shultz and added: Any possible agreement on Ukraine should take into account Russia’s interests in the security field and be based on new territorial realities.
Putin stated: The current crisis is the result of NATO’s aggressive policy, which sought to create an anti-Russian base in Ukraine.
According to this report, the dire situation in the Middle East was also one of the issues discussed by the leaders of Russia and Germany.
