A fire in a hospital in India killed 10 babies
reported Mehr News Agency According to ABC News, 10 babies died as a result of a fire in the neonatal intensive care unit in a hospital in northern India.
According to the announcement of the authorities, this fire in the city hospital Jhansi” broke out in the state of Uttar Pradesh. Officials say the fire quickly spread to the pediatric and neonatal unit; where 55 babies were under care.
Bimal Kumar Dubai, one of Local authorities have said that 45 babies have been rescued and are being treated. The cause of this fire has not yet been determined and the authorities have promised a comprehensive investigation into this incident.
According to the authorities, firefighting and rescue operations started 30 minutes after the fire started. One of the parents of the deceased babies says that the safety alert was not activated quickly and as a result the operation progressed slowly and created a disaster.
