“Parachanar” crime has nothing to do with Shia and Sunni

Terrorist actions by Takfiri and sectarian elements that have targeted defenseless civilians living in this area in recent years caused strict restrictions to be imposed in Parachenar city.

In the latest case of these attacks, 44 people, including 39 Shiites, were killed in an attack on passenger cars in the Karam region in northwest Pakistan yesterday. . According to reports, many of the victims of this incident are women and children. Also, at least 12 other people were injured in this terrorist attack. The identity of the perpetrators of this terrorist incident is not yet clear and no group has claimed responsibility for this attack.

About this recent crime, how did it happen?

First of all, let me say that before this crime, a few months ago in the same place, a Sunni caravan was the target of a terrorist crime, and in that incident more than 30 people were killed. Sunni people were martyred. Officers were also present in this convoy.

After that, the transportation route from Peshawar to Parachenar was closed. A few weeks ago, this route was opened and after negotiations between the people of Parachenar and the security and government institutions of Pakistan, the people agreed to travel along this road in the form of a convoy and with the army.

This convoy, which was traveling to Peshawar with private and public vehicles, was attacked by terrorists, and as a result, more than 43 people were martyred and many passengers were injured, and none of the officers who were with them to protect the passengers were even injured. Our question is, how come those who were in charge of protecting the passengers, nothing happened to them, but so many civilians were killed and injured?

Many things have happened on this road. How do you think this road can be made safe for travelers, especially for Shiites?

I have said in the parliament and the meetings I had with security, military and government officials that this method does not solve the main problem. By sending hundreds of people on this dangerous road with only a few agents, we are increasing our own problems and this is not the solution. First, the road itself and its surroundings should be cleared of terrorists, and if the security around the road is ensured, there is no need for the security forces to accompany the passengers.

What do you think are the factors behind these events?

You see, it is often said that in Parachinar it is a Shiite and Sunni issue, while we have been living together for many years and have no problems with each other. . In this recent incident, more than 30 people were able to save themselves and escape from the terrorists. These people went to Sunni houses and took shelter there. Sunni people also sheltered them and were very good hosts for them. Even some of the indigenous people there announced in the virtual space and media that they had no role in this crime.

So we can say that another power is involved in these crimes with specific goals that we are still unaware of.

In the media, the clashes in Parachenar are announced over the ownership of a piece of land. Is this problem not solvable?

In regards to the dispute regarding land ownership, I must say that of all these border areas, the only place that has land ownership documents is the Karam area, where both Shiites and Sunnis also live. If the government or security agencies want, they can solve this issue in one day, because all the required documents are available. So these conflicts are not over land ownership. There is a power that wants to be in conflict in Parachenar; They don’t want to solve it.

Currently, what is your main request from the government and institutions of Pakistan? Are the martyrs buried?

All the people who were martyred in the recent incident have been buried, but demonstrations and sit-ins are being held in Parachenar and all parts of Pakistan. Due to the fact that the army and the security forces, which are responsible for the protection of the people from the government, could not do anything, our request is to activate the local forces consisting of Shia and Sunni youth and the security forces, which sometimes act biased. They are trying to get us out of Parachenar.
