Burrell’s latest stance on the ceasefire in Lebanon
reported by Mehr News Agency quoted by Sharq Al-Awsat, Joseph Borrell, the European Union foreign policy official, during his trip to Beirut, called for increased pressure on the Zionist regime and Lebanon’s Hezbollah in order to accept the ceasefire proposal.
Burrell also asked the Lebanese leaders at a press conference in Beirut to end the two-year vacuum in the country by electing a president. He also committed to allocating 200 million euros to support the Lebanese Armed Forces.
Amos Hochstein, the US ambassador to the region, traveled to the region earlier this week with the aim of ending the months-long war between the Zionist regime and Lebanon’s Hezbollah, which has turned into a full-scale war. .
Borrell’s statements as well as Hochstein’s trip come at a time when, according to the Lebanese Ministry of Health, more than 3,500 people have been martyred in the brutal attacks of the Zionist regime on Lebanon.
