Fidan: We welcome Iraq’s initiative regarding Syria

According to Webangah News quoted by Mehr News Agency quoted by Sputnik, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan announced that Ankara welcomes Baghdad’s initiative on Syria.

Turkey’s foreign minister announced that the country supports Iraq’s initiative to mediate between Ankara and Damascus and called for a tripartite meeting between the officials of these countries.

Fidan said: Turkey, Syria and Iraq are neighboring countries that are involved in the borders of the earth.

According to the Turkish Foreign Minister, these three countries should seek to resolve their differences through dialogue.

Fidan emphasized the importance of the border issue between Iraq and Syria, especially in the field of fighting terrorism and preventing arms smuggling.
