Türkiye’s first official reaction to the developments in Syria
reported by Mehr News Agency quoted by Al Jazeera, the spokesperson of the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs reacted to the developments on the ground in Aleppo and Idlib in Syria by issuing a statement.
The spokesman of this ministry added that the recent conflicts in northern Syria have added to the undesirable escalation of tensions in the region.
He claimed that the Syrian army’s attacks on Idlib have reached a level that harms the implementation of the Astana agreement and these attacks must be stopped.
The spokesman of the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that it is very important for Ankara to avoid the escalation of instability in northern Syria and not to harm civilians.
He also said that Turkey implements the requirements of the agreement on the de-escalation zone in Idlib and attaches special importance to the territorial integrity and integration of Syria.
