According to Webangah News quoted by Mehr News Agency, citing Sputnik, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Ati had a telephone conversation with his Syrian counterpart Bassam Sabbagh.
Egyptian foreign minister emphasized to his Syrian counterpart that Cairo’s position is firm and on supporting the Syrian government and its sovereignty and the unity and integrity of its lands.
The foreign ministers of Egypt and Syria also discussed the ways of the Arab world’s support for Damascus in the light of recent developments, especially at the level of the Arab League.
This military operation by terrorists against the positions of the Syrian army violated the ceasefire agreement concluded in 2020 because the area is subject to the “de-escalation” agreement guaranteed by Turkey in Astana. It was signed and includes areas in Idlib, the outskirts of Aleppo, and parts of Hama and Latakia.
The attack of the terrorist groups against the positions of the Syrian army was carried out at the same time as Benjamin Netanyahu announced the ceasefire in Lebanon and his direct threat against Syria.
