President of Taiwan: We have the right to interact with the world!

At the end of his first overseas trip after his inauguration, the president of the island of Taiwan claimed that "Taiwanese people have the right to interact with the world."

According to Webangah News quoted by Mehr News Agency quoted by Anatoly, “Lai Ching-te”, the President of the island of Taiwan, at the end of his first foreign trip after the inauguration ceremony in May, considered “interaction with the world” as the right of the people of this autonomous island. .

In his third and last stop on his overseas tour to three countries located in the Pacific Ocean, he said: An authoritarian regime should not interact and exchange with the international community in order to promote as much as possible. Consider understanding and cooperation as a provocative act.

Lai traveled to the Marshall Islands, Tuvalu and Palau on this tour and also spent three nights in Hawaii and Guam, located in the American territory.

Taiwan’s president called on Beijing to “return to the international law-based order and open its hands instead of clenching its fists”!

Taipei had previously warned that Beijing might hold a military exercise around the island of Taiwan in response to Lai’s visit. China considers the island of Taiwan as part of its territory and considers any relations between this island and foreign countries and vice versa as a violation of the principle of “One China”.

Lin Jian, the spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, said about Lai’s provocative actions: the separatist activities of the “Taiwan independence” separatist forces and the complicity and support of foreign forces are the biggest threat to peace. and stability in the Taiwan Strait.

He added: Lai and the officials of the Democratic Progressive Party (Taiwan) constantly resort to various excuses to promote separatist thinking. No matter what they say or do, they cannot change the fact that Taiwan is part of China and cannot stop the historical process that China will and must be reunified. Trying to rely on foreign forces in order to achieve independence is doomed to failure.

The number of Taiwan’s allies increased from 15 to 12 during Tsai Ing-wen’s tenure as Taiwan’s president. At that time, the Solomon Islands, Kiribati and Nauru turned towards Beijing and emphasized the principle of “One China” based on UN Resolution 2758.
