The latest position of the Iraqi Foreign Minister on the developments in Syria

While expressing his concern over the developments in Syria, the Iraqi foreign minister announced that he would deal harshly with any movement by armed groups against Iraq.

According to Webangah News quoted by Mehr News, Iraqi Foreign Minister Fawad Hossein told Al Jazeera Mubasher: “Baghdad’s policy is not to interfere in the internal affairs of countries, and we proposed a plan to solve the Syrian crisis. We want stability and security in Syria. Chaos and instability affect the security of Iraq and the region.

Iraqi Foreign Minister said: We care about protecting our borders and territorial integrity. The developments in Syria are dangerous and have human consequences. All our concern is to establish peace in Surah. We are concerned about the disintegration of Syria. We need a strong Arab position and we want to hold a meeting of the Arab League at the ministerial level to review the situation in Syria.

He added: “Our relations with Turkey are good, and we are investigating the risk of the return of ISIS in the shadow of developments in Syria.” ISIS is in Syria and its leaders are in prisons, and we are worried about armed chaos. The Syrian government is looking to support big cities like Homs, Damascus, and we are worried about chaos in Syria. We are concerned about the developments in Syria and we are carefully examining it and we are in contact with the parties.

Iraqi Foreign Minister said: If the conflict in Syria continues, a humanitarian disaster will occur. Syrians determine their destiny and future, and we support stability and human rights.
