The reaction of the UAE to the political and military developments in Syria

According to Webangah News quoted by Mehr News Agency quoted by Al-Mayadeen, Anwar Gargash, diplomatic affairs advisor to the President of the UAE, said in response to the developments in Syria: Non-governmental parties should not be allowed to take advantage of the political vacuum.

He added: Defense and military institutions should not come under the control of armed groups.

Gargash added: The current developments in Syria indicate a political failure. The most important cause of our concern regarding the developments in this country is extremism and terrorism.

He said: Syria’s sovereignty is still under threat and this issue is the main source of our concerns.
