According to Webangah News quoted by Mehr News Agency quoted by Al-Mayadin, the Arab Contact Committee at the end of its meeting regarding Syria in the city of Aqaba, Jordan, emphasized standing by the Syrian people and respecting their will and choice.
The Arab Contact Committee stated: We support the peaceful Syrian-Syrian inclusive political transition process in which all Syrian political and social forces are present. An inclusive transitional governing body should be formed with the consensus of the Syrian people and it should be implemented at the beginning of the steps specified in UN Security Council Resolution 2254 to pass the transitional stage to a new political system.
This statement states: There should be free and healthy elections under the supervision of the United Nations, based on the new constitution approved by the Syrians and within a specific time frame according to the mechanism of the Security Council resolution. to be held We support the role of the UN envoy to Syria and ask the UN Secretary General to provide him with all the necessary facilities.
The Arab Contact Committee stressed: action must be taken to establish a UN agency to help Syria to support the transition process in this country and to monitor it.
