Investigators of South Korea’s failed martial law declaration case sent a summons to Yun Seok-yul, asking him to appear for questioning today (Sunday, December 29) at 10 o’clock local time. be; A request that he ignored for the third time in the last two weeks.

Yoon Seok-yul had previously refused to attend the interrogation session on December 25 and did not provide any explanation for this absence.

The conservative president of South Korea was suspended on December 14 by the vote of the country’s parliament. The failed military rule in Seoul, which lasted only 6 hours, has dragged the Southeast Asian country into its worst political crisis in decades.

Yoon Suk-yul is facing charges such as treason and rebellion, which, if proven, could result in life imprisonment or even the death penalty.

South Korea’s High-ranking Officials’ Corruption Investigation Office confirmed Yoon Suk-yul’s absence from today’s meeting and announced that it will decide on future actions after reviewing the case.

South Korean prosecutors, along with a team of police, defense ministry and anti-corruption officials, are investigating the country’s president. At the same time, the Constitutional Court of Seoul is also reviewing the impeachment motion that the South Korean Parliament voted for.

If approved by the Constitutional Court, which must announce its final verdict within 6 months, early elections must be held within 60 days after the announcement of the verdict.
