Iraqi Prime Minister’s stance on relations with Iran and America

The Prime Minister of Iraq spoke about various issues, including relations between Iran and America, as well as relations with Saudi Arabia.

According to Webangah News quoted by Mehr News, the Prime Minister of Iraq, Mohammad Shia al-Sudani, took a stand on various issues in a conversation with Al-Arabiya Network.

He answered the question that some say that Iraq follows Iran’s orders, and others even inside Iraq say that the government of this country is under the influence and order of America. and its policies. When will Iraq get rid of this duality? He said: We will get rid of the pressures of Iran and America when others get rid of Tehran-phobia and Washington-phobia.

He added: Our relations with Iran are based on our neighborhood and commonality. Iran is a country that stood by Iraq in supporting the political process and fighting terrorism. On the other hand, our relations with America are also strategic and a transparent partnership is based on the strategic framework agreement. America was also the country that led the international coalition and supported Iraq’s efforts to fight terrorism. Iraq, along with the sacrifices of its people, won with these friends.

Al-Sudani, in response to the question whether there is any concern regarding the issue of arms or armed groups passing to Syria?, emphasizing Iraq’s insistence on coordination with Syria For border control, he said: these concerns will have no effect and we are working towards the stability and support of Syria.

He pointed out that the Iraqi government and political groups have agreed not to interfere in the affairs of Syria, and said: We will not participate in actions to disrupt the security of Syria.

The Prime Minister of Iraq noted that the possibility of his trip to Syria will be determined according to the conditions.

Al-Sudani further pointed out that the purpose of Israel’s threats against Iraq is to expand the scope of the conflict, and emphasized to Al-Arabiya: Iraq will not allow any party to make this country involved in conflicts and wars and we are the ones who decide on war and peace.

Al-Sudani also emphasized his country’s opposition to the genocidal war of the Zionist regime in Gaza and Lebanon.

He also said about relations with Saudi Arabia: Our relations with Saudi Arabia are positive and there is a consensus of views. During our last trip to this country, we discussed the situation in Syria and non-interference in its internal affairs.
