He announced that Israeli soldiers fired more than 16 bullets at the UN aid convoy at one of the checkpoints between the south and north of Gaza.
Fletcher reported: Six fuel tankers that entered Gaza from Karam Abu Salem crossing were looted and only a small amount of fuel remained for relief operations.
He said: an Israeli air strike targeted a vehicle that was protecting part of the UN aid convoy.
Fletcher added that these soldiers threatened patients in critical situations and arrested four of them.
Under Secretary of Humanitarian Affairs Antonio Guterres emphasized that the people of Gaza have been dealing with displacement, psychological shocks, destruction of schools, hospitals and urban infrastructure, and hunger for more than 14 months.
Fletcher called on the member states of the United Nations to emphasize the need to protect all civilians and support humanitarian operations in Gaza.
These events happen while the humanitarian situation in Gaza is extremely dire and international aid hardly reaches the people in need due to these obstacles.
