Switzerland’s announcement of readiness to mediate between Russia and Ukraine

The Swiss Foreign Ministry announced late last year that Switzerland will not hold a second conference on Ukraine and Bern is now focused on preparing for ceasefire talks.
Ignazio Cassis, Switzerland’s foreign minister said on December 16 that Switzerland is actively working with the European Union, the United States, Russia and the Group of 7 to organize a second conference on Ukraine and Russia’s participation in the process.
In June, Putin proposed initiatives for a peaceful resolution of the conflict in Ukraine.
