Kiev: We don’t have a system to intercept “Orshnik”.

The commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces admitted that the country is not capable of intercepting Russia's Orshnik ballistic missiles.

reported by Mehr News Agency quoted by Tass, Oleksandr Sirsky, the commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, says that Kiev currently does not have the ability to intercept Russian medium-range ballistic missiles.

Sirsky said in a conversation with the TV channel “TSN” that “there is no such system at the moment.”

Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on November 21, 2024 that in response to Ukraine’s attacks on Russian territory with Western long-range missiles, Moscow for the first time launched its newest medium-range ballistic missile called ” Orshnik”, attacked a Ukrainian defense complex called “Yuzmash” in the city of Dnieper.

Orshanik missile has the ability to target targets up to a range of five thousand kilometers and it is extremely difficult to intercept. After this attack, Putin warned that Moscow will use this missile again if needed, but will not make hasty decisions.
