This war has had consequences in different dimensions for the Zionist regime, Gaza, the West Asian region and the world. In this article, the important consequences of the war for Gaza are briefly examined.
The consequences of the 15-month war of the Zionist regime against Gaza can be described in four dimensions: material, educational, health and political.
1. Material consequences: human casualties and economic damages
During 15 months of aerial and ground bombardment, bombing hospitals and medical centers, IDP camps and people’s homes, the Zionist regime inflicted unprecedented human and material damage on Gaza. Some of these tangible and material consequences are as follows:
The occurrence of unprecedented genocide with about 160 thousand martyrs and injured
In this war, which was obviously an asymmetric war, more than 46,000 Palestinians have been martyred inside Gaza due to the attacks of the Zionist regime, and the majority of martyrs are civilians. More than 13 thousand 300 children have been martyred in this war, the youngest of whom was born only a few hours ago. In total, about 2% of the population of Gaza, or one out of every 50 people, have been martyred.
About 110,000 people have also been injured, which is about 5% of the population of Gaza. More than a quarter of war casualties now live with life-changing injuries, including amputations, severe burns and head injuries. These statistics are a clear example of the genocide committed by the Zionist regime in Gaza. Undoubtedly, many children have lost their parents, which can have long-term and lasting consequences for them. Therefore, the genocide that occurred is not only a short-term consequence of the war, but it will have long-term and even permanent consequences for the survivors.
Personal and public material damages for Gaza
15 months of heavy and unprecedented bombing against Gaza has caused material damages in both personal and public dimensions for Gaza. personally; United Nations statistics show that 9 out of 10 houses in the Gaza Strip have been destroyed or damaged. Therefore, the people of Gaza are witnessing the end of the war without having a house to live in. In general, schools, hospitals, mosques, shops and offices have been destroyed. Almost all school buildings in Gaza have been damaged or destroyed and none are ready for use. Last October, the United Nations announced that the removal of 42 million tons of debris from the bombing of the Gaza Strip may take years.
2. Heavy educational implications for Gaza
Another important consequence of the 15-month war against Gaza is the destruction of infrastructure and education opportunities for the children of this strip. According to published reports, 660,000 school-aged children do not have access to formal education for more than a year. Meanwhile, research by the University of Cambridge and the United Nations shows that the war will set back education in Gaza by up to five years, risking a lost generation of permanently traumatized youth.
Therefore, the loss of the opportunity for education is not just a consequence of the war period, but will continue even years after the war, and it can be said that a generation has been deprived of education. . This consequence is also considered a war crime committed by the Zionist regime against the people of Gaza.
3. Healthcare consequences for the people of Gaza
Another important consequence of the 15-month war against Gaza is the destruction of Gaza’s healthcare infrastructure. The World Health Organization announced in January 2025 that since the beginning of the war, 654 attacks on health facilities have been recorded. Hospitals and medical centers are almost completely destroyed, and the lack of medicine has become one of the main causes of death in Gaza. Thousands of people are now facing the risk of death due to lack of medicine. Meanwhile, more than 1,500 health care workers, including nurses, paramedics, doctors and other medical workers, have been martyred, many of whom were at their workplaces at the time of martyrdom. Dozens of others were arrested. This situation has imposed a heavy material and human cost on Gaza’s healthcare sector.
4. Political consequences of the war for Gaza
The 15-month war of the Zionist regime against Gaza has also had important political consequences. One of the most important political consequences is that despite 15 months of daily bombing and genocide in Gaza, the resistance is still alive in Gaza. The unique welcome of the people of Gaza to the fighters of Hamas after the implementation of the ceasefire is one of the clear proofs of the survival of the resistance in this area. On the one hand, the Palestinian resistance dealt a heavy intelligence and military blow to the Zionist regime with the Al-Aqsa storm operation. On the other hand, during the 15 months of war, more than 1,684 Zionists were killed and thousands were injured. The 15-month resistance of Hamas against the Zionist regime has resulted in about 67 billion dollars in material damages for this regime.
The tourism industry of this regime has also almost disappeared. These damages also indicate the survival of the resistance in Palestine. However, the most important sign of the survival of the resistance in Gaza is that despite the fact that the Zionist regime had determined the destruction of Hamas as one of its military goals at the beginning of the war, it was finally forced to negotiate with Hamas again. The ceasefire was an agreement between Hamas and the Zionist regime. Even according to Zionist analysts, the ceasefire was the imposition of the will of the Palestinian resistance on the Zionist regime. For this reason, a large number of Zionist officials and analysts believe that the ceasefire in Gaza represents the defeat of the Zionist regime against the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas).
Channel 12 of the Zionist regime TV announced: Hamas is still the only force capable of ruling the Gaza Strip after 15 months of war. This Zionist media admitted about the day after the war in Gaza that Israel failed to fulfill its goals in the war, which was to not allow Hamas to return to Gaza and rule over it; Because we saw on the first day of the ceasefire that Hamas is still able to rule Gaza and the armed forces of this movement were among the people in the streets of Gaza and a large number of them were present when the Israeli prisoners were handed over.
Therefore, there is no force other than Hamas that can rule over Gaza and limit the ability of the Israeli army. “Ran Ben Yishai”, a prominent analyst of the Zionist regime’s military affairs, also wrote in the Hebrew newspaper Yedioth Aharonot: “One of the important facts that Israel ignores is that Hamas is rooted in the ideals and ideology of the Palestinians; In other words, Hamas is Gaza and Gaza is Hamas. The truth is that Israel is unable to destroy Hamas and cannot destroy the members of this movement.”

The cease-fire in Gaza does not mean denying the heavy damages that this strip suffered during the 15 months of war. This war has caused heavy human, material, educational and health losses for the Gaza strip, but without a doubt the survival of Hamas in Gaza and the widespread acceptance of the fighters of this movement on the day after the implementation of the ceasefire is the most important political consequence of the war because it proves that as the leader of the revolution Islami said: “Resistance is alive and will remain alive.” This means that the resistance will not be destroyed by bombing and unprecedented war. According to Zionist and Western analysts and theorists, Hamas is not just an organization but a thought that will not disappear.
