Grossi: We have no evidence of Iran’s nuclear weapons development

The Director General of the International Energy Agency says that there is no evidence that Tehran is developing nuclear weapons.

reported Mehr News Agency, Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, on the sidelines of the Davos meeting in Switzerland in a conversation with the Indian network “NDTV” said about Iran’s nuclear activities that there is currently no evidence that Tehran is building nuclear weapons.

However, he claimed that Iran has accumulated a large amount of enriched uranium that makes this country “very, very close to the weapons level”!

The Director General of the Agency claimed that Iran is not clarifying about its past and present activities and is not fully cooperating with the Agency, adding: We will inspect them at the levels or places we believe. Let’s put it, we don’t do it.

He had previously announced about Iran’s peaceful nuclear program that “we are interacting with Russia, China, and European countries, but it is clear to everyone that America is necessary. What we need is to find understanding. This will be our mission for the next few weeks.”

Grossi added that “we need to reach an understanding (about Iran’s nuclear program). This is our mission in the coming weeks.”

Even though before the withdrawal of the American President Donald Trump from the JCPOA, the IAEA has repeatedly confirmed Iran’s adherence to the provisions of the JCPOA nuclear agreement and considered the current situation as a result. The US withdrawal from this international agreement is considered natural, the director general of the international agency said: Iran needs to reach an understanding with the Trump administration about its nuclear activities in order to avoid being drawn into another military conflict in the Middle East.
