Rubio: We hope to not exacerbate sanctions against Russia

reports Mehr News Agency That Washington hopes not to exacerbate Russia in an attempt to resolve the Ukrainian war.

“It should be clear to everyone that in this equation, America has to impose costs on the Russian side, but we hope it will not work there,” said Rubio.
“We hope that both parties will understand that the conflict will not be resolved through military tools, but will only be resolved by diplomatic tools,” he added.
“The President’s goal is to bring both sides to the negotiating table and resolve this (war),” said senior American diplomat. But this is a reminder that we understand that if the agreement is broken, the US has its own tools. We really hope that that doesn’t happen and not reach that stage.
