The decision is not in Washington … but in Sanaa
After the “Storm al-Qasi” operation and the sudden attack of the Palestinian resistance against the occupation regime on October 5, it became clear to everyone that the war is no longer just a conflict between the two; Rather, it is the beginning of a new phase in the region, in which the West’s influence has declined unprecedentedly. The developments that took place in the months following the operation on the military and political scene have clearly shown that regional equations were on the verge of a major change. While the occupation regime thought it could quickly end the battle, as it had happened in the past, field developments showed that the reality was quite different.
It is not surprising to say that the forces that were considered to be “sub-actors” have now become the main decision makers in the region, and among them, Yemen has a special place. The prominent role played by the Ansarullah (Houthis) movement in this framework has changed all calculations. Yemen is no longer merely a battlefield that is under the heavy siege of the Saudi -led coalition, but has become an effective factor in its regional environment. The great surprise is that this transformation took place at a time when the world was trying to hold Iran responsible for all Yemeni movements, while the reality showed that Ansarullah was fully independent and even surpassed many of the great powers in managing the challenge.
When it comes to Iran’s support for the Ansarullah movement, many analysts ignore that this war is not merely a “proxy war”. Yemen has not benefited from Iran’s extensive military aid since the beginning of the war, as the Western media propaganda propaganda. What has shown in recent years is that the Yemenis have been able to expand their military capabilities independently, relying on strong will and internal support. Even martyr Qassim Suleimani, one of the main pillars of Iranian regional politics, has repeatedly emphasized that Yemeni youth have such abilities that make them more efficient in the region.
The issue that many observers may be unaware of is that Yemen has been under severe ground, sea and air besieged since the beginning of the rape in year 6. This blockade has prevented any foreign equipment, including weapons and ammunition. As a result, Ansarullah was forced to produce its combat equipment domestically. Despite these harsh conditions, the movement has managed to produce missiles and drones that are a real threat to regional and international powers. This has led the US and the Zionist regime to pursue harder sanctions against Tehran under the pretext of Iranian military support for Ansarullah. But the reality is that Yemen is besieged and there is no evidence that Iran has sent weapons or military equipment to Ansarullah.
However, despite these regional changes, Iran’s great role in supporting resistance cannot be overlooked, especially in providing political and technical support. Iran’s support for resistance movements in the region is a strategic support that goes beyond traditional military coalitions and aims to create a balance that reflects the interests of the nations of the region, not the domination of foreign powers. Therefore, the US and the occupation regime’s efforts to attribute all Ansarullah’s moves to Iran is a failed attempt to cover their inability to deal with the challenges that the focus of resistance has imposed on them.
The biggest contradiction that the Yemen war reveals is that Washington and Tel Aviv still live in hallucinations and think that control of the region is still at their disposal. But the truth is that Yemen has changed this equation unexpectedly. With attacks targeted Zionist ships in the Red Sea and attacks that targeted American bases, Ansarullah proved that one group is no longer affiliated with another government, but is an independent force that can change regional equations. In this regard, it can be said that the decision of war and peace is neither in Washington nor in Vafa, whose name has been changed to Tel Aviv, but is in the hands of new actors who seek regional stability based on different criteria from what the West wants. The president, who returned to the White House with the promise of “returning America’s greatness” to the White House, realized that his economic and political interests were in danger of regional developments. The sanctions he imposed on Iran for the past year and his hostile policies against the axis of resistance have put him against an unprecedented challenge. While the US was trying to dominate energy markets, attacks on Zionist ships in the Red Sea showed that the balance of power in the region has changed drastically.
Also, the notion that Iran is responsible for the attacks that Ansarullah is carrying out is a misconception. Iran did not decide to attack Zionist ships or US bases in the Red Sea. Rather, it was the movement of Ansarullah in Yemen, which made its decisions independently and based on its strategic interests. In addition, the attacks targeted by US and Zionist ships were a natural reaction to Yemen’s siege and US support for the occupation regime’s crimes against the Palestinians.
Therefore, the image provided by some Western media and their Arab allies of Iran’s support for Ansarullah is merely covering their inability to deal with reality: the Ansarullah movement has now become an independent force that has the ability to make a direct decision-making. What Ansarullah has done is not only a step in the path of resistance but also a proof of its political and military independence that goes beyond the influence of regional and international powers.
Ultimately, if a lesson is learned from this war, the will of nations is a decisive factor in changing the facts. Not everything is limited to the policies of the great powers or proxy wars. What is happening today in Yemen is the result of the free will of the people who have decided to set their destiny without the intervention of foreigners. This is the fact that Trump and Netanyahu are trying to ignore, but they will eventually be forced to accept, because field realities have a greater voice than any political discourse.
Today, Iran’s effective role in directing events cannot be overlooked, as negotiations are being held on different regional fronts. With every victory it earns, it becomes clearer that no more decision is made in Washington and Tel Aviv, but in capitals that pursue their goals beyond Western domination; And one of the most important of these capitals is Sanaa.
