Ayatollah Khamenei: Zionist regime only proxy force in the region
According to the political desk of Webangah News, citing the Imam and Leadership section of the Tasnim News Agency, the term “Iran’s proxy forces” has been frequently used these days by the masters of the Zionist regime, particularly the United States. In response to the repeated use of this term by American officials, Imam Khamenei, in several recent speeches, has called it “false, an accusation, and an insult” to the faithful and motivated fighters of the Resistance Front. He emphasized:
“The Islamic Republic does not have proxy forces. Yemen fights because it is faithful; Hezbollah fights because its faith draws it to the battlefield; Hamas and Islamic Jihad fight because their beliefs compel them to do so. They are not acting on our behalf. If we ever decide to take action, we do not need proxy forces. Honorable and faithful men in Yemen, Iraq, Lebanon, Palestine, and—God willing—soon in Syria, are present and will remain present. They are fighting against oppression and crimes, against the vile, imposed Zionist regime. We, too, are fighting, and God willing, we will eliminate this regime from the region.”
Ayatollah Khamenei: The Islamic Republic Does Not Need Proxy Forces
In his latest remarks on this accusation during the Eid al-Fitr sermon, the Leader of the Revolution described the “usurping, corrupt Zionist regime” as the only proxy force in the region, adding:
“This regime commits arson, genocide, and crimes on behalf of colonial powers. If it gets the chance, it invades other countries, just as it is now invading Syria, entering Syrian territory and advancing to within a few kilometers of Damascus. It does this on behalf of colonialists—the same ones who, after World War II, laid their hands on this region and shaped it into what it is today. Now, the Zionist regime continues and completes their work on their behalf.”
The reference to the Zionist usurping regime being a proxy force in West Asia is, in fact, a reminder in line with the historical clarifications made by the Leader of the Revolution regarding the sinister nature of the Zionist regime, which he has previously elaborated on in detail.
A Look at the History of “Israel’s Proxy Role for Colonial Powers”
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution has repeatedly exposed the historical role of Israel as a proxy for colonial powers over the years.
Colonial Britain as the Founder of the Zionist Regime
The Leader considers the colonial British government as the architect behind the formation of the Zionist regime, asserting that the British exploited the idea of influential Jews to establish an independent state for Jews in order to pursue their colonial ambitions.
“The establishment of the Zionist regime in [Palestine] was more of a colonial desire of the British government than a wish of the Jewish people… It was a colonial and British idea.”
“British soldiers smuggled weapons for the Jews, instigated internal conflicts, and suppressed movements that had arisen in awareness of their schemes. Then, in 1948, they officially created a Zionist state in part of Palestine. Later, through various wars—in 1956 and 1974—they seized other parts of Palestine, transforming it into what is now the state of Israel.”
“[The British] carried out that sinister and malicious move in Palestine, displacing Muslims—indeed, an entire nation—from their homes. A historically recognized country dating back thousands of years, known as Palestine, was erased by British policies.”
Britain’s Objectives in Establishing the Zionist Regime in West Asia
- Creating a United Government in a Sensitive Part of the Islamic World to Sustain Colonial Domination
“The very creation of this state in this sensitive location—virtually the heart of the Islamic world, connecting the western Islamic region (Africa) to the eastern Islamic region (the Middle East and Asia), and serving as a crossroads between Asia, Africa, and Europe—was intended to ensure the long-term continuity of colonial domination, led by Britain, over the Islamic world. This was to prevent the emergence of a powerful Islamic state, like during the Ottoman era, from blocking colonial influence in the region. Thus, they established a base for themselves.” - Securing a Foothold for Britain in a Resource-Rich Region
“The international wars between global arrogant powers began in Europe. The colonialists turned against each other, but they entangled the Muslim nations of this region in the consequences and crises of these wars… The same bloodstained hands that ignited those deadly wars sought to seize control of the world and bring this critical, resource-rich region—the potential center of unity for the Islamic world—under their domination.”“For the British, capturing this area was crucial… At the time, the Ottoman Empire still existed, and the British had no foothold in the region. After World War I, the Ottoman Empire collapsed, and Jordan, Iraq, Egypt, Hejaz, and others effectively came under British mandate… It was very important for the British to establish a presence here.”
- Preventing Unity Among the Islamic World, Particularly the Arab World
“The British had major colonial ambitions in the Middle East at the time. They saw it as beneficial for Jews to enter the region—first as a minority, then gradually expand, taking over a critical area (given Palestine’s strategic location), forming a government allied with Britain, and preventing unity among the Islamic world, especially the Arab world in that region.”
Israel: Colonial Britain’s Legacy to Colonial America
The Leader’s historical narrative of the Zionist regime as a “proxy force of colonial powers in West Asia” highlights that after the U.S. seized global political dominance from Britain, Israel’s proxy role was part of the colonial inheritance passed to America. The U.S. has since maximized its use of this arrangement, leading to Israel gradually shifting allegiance from Britain to America, which has sheltered it to this day.
“A government founded on force, oppression, and the expulsion of Muslims and rightful owners—first under direct British assistance, then, as Americans entered the scene, placed under their control along with other European countries and the Soviet Union of that time.”
The Zionist Regime’s Primary Objective, Which It is Forced to Conceal
The Leader identifies Israel’s goal as territorial expansion, asserting that the Zionist state is not content with present-day Palestine.
“At first, they wanted a small piece of land, then took half of Palestine, then all of it, then invaded neighboring countries like Jordan, Syria, and Egypt to seize their lands. Today, the fundamental goal of Zionism is the creation of ‘Greater Israel.'”
However, the Leader’s analysis is that Israelis have been forced to conceal this objective because, after the Islamic Revolution in Iran, two major developments occurred in the Palestinian struggle:
- The Palestinian movement transformed from a secular struggle into an Islamic one.
- The Intifada—uprisings within the occupied homeland—emerged.
The Leader argues that the Zionist regime fears this uprising because:
“The struggles of the Palestinian people within their own land are devastating and crushing for the Zionist regime—they pierce its spine. Why? Because they promised Jews gathered from around the world security, comfort, and a good life in this region, telling them to come and live as masters. But now, they cannot withstand confronting this newly risen generation, the true owners of this land who have awakened. The pillars of the Zionist regime are shaky, forcing them to pursue peace with regional governments at any cost so they can focus on their internal issues… Today, under these circumstances, the usurping Zionist regime no longer dares to openly declare its primary goal: expansion from the Nile to the Euphrates.”
Conclusion
Reviewing the history of the Zionist regime’s creation as a proxy force for colonialists, as illuminated by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, leads to the conclusion he himself has stated:
“The liberation of Palestine and the eradication of the usurping Zionist regime is an issue tied to the interests of the nations in this region—including our beloved Iran.”
And all the fighters in the Resistance Front will not relent until the Zionist regime is eliminated from West Asia and its arrogant colonial masters are expelled from the region.
