Confirming the date of the South Korean early elections; June 3rd June
reports Mehr News Agency And the interim President of South Korea announced that the country’s early presidential election will be held June 3 to determine the successor of South Korea’s President Yun Suk Yul.
Yun was suspended as President in the case of the Military rule on December 3, which lasted only four hours and was canceled with the intervention of South Korean parliament, and was eventually dismissed by the Constitutional Court after being arrested and spent in prison.
A South Korean government official said yesterday that officials have appointed June 3 (June 6) for the South Korean presidential election, and this date should be approved in the cabinet.
South Korea’s presidential election has been held on Wednesday before, but for early elections and in such circumstances there is no specific day in the week.
The election campaign officially begins on May 9 and will continue until June 2. South Korea’s opposition leader Lee Jae Myung is vanguard in all polls and is supported by 5 %, based on the latest Gallup Institute. His party currently holds the National Assembly.
