Lavrov: Europe Is Attempting to Revive Nazism
According to the English section of the “Webangah News Agency,” citing Mehr News Agency and RIA novosti, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated on Sunday that the European Union is attempting to revive Nazism by banning politicians and government officials from certain European countries from attending May 9 ceremonies in Russia.
In an interview with Russian journalist Pavel Zarubin, Lavrov said: “There are no words to describe this phenomenon. I am not being sarcastic now. It is incomprehensible how the EU openly seeks to revive the European ideology of Nazism.”
The Russian Foreign Minister emphasized: “Russia will no longer tolerate it and will make every effort to destroy this ideology so it cannot rise again.”
This comes after EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas previously informed member states that their attendance at May 9 events in Moscow was unwelcome and that she herself had no plans to participate in these ceremonies.
