Trump Considers Cutting Another $1 Billion from Harvard’s Funding
U.S. Government Plans to Cut Another $1 Billion from Harvard University’s Funding!
According to the English section of Webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and CNN, the U.S.management under President Donald Trump intends to cut an additional $1 billion in funding from Harvard University.
The Wall Street Journal reported that this federal funding was allocated to the university’s healthcare research programs.
Previously, the Trump administration suspended $2.2 billion in financial aid to Harvard, along with a $60 million university contract, due to Harvard’s refusal to provide employment data to the government. This decision followed Harvard’s rejection of the administration’s request to modify certain other policies.
Analysts believe this move aligns with recent Trump administration policies aimed at restricting pro-Palestinian spaces within American universities.
In recent months, Harvard and several other prominent U.S. universities have faced political and media pressure over stances taken by some students and faculty in support of Palestine and condemnation of Israeli aggression.
Earlier, the Trump administration had repeatedly used financial leverage—including threats of funding cuts—to prevent critical discourse against the Zionist regime from taking shape on campuses.
