U.S. Vice President Among the Last to Meet wiht Global Catholic leader on His Final Day
According to the English section of Webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, Mike Pence, Vice President under Donald Trump, was among the last individuals to meet with Pope Francis, the global leader of Catholics, on his final day of life.
The Pope had been a vocal critic of certain policies under the Trump governance, including its plans to deport millions of immigrants from U.S. soil.
Previously condemning Trump’s pledge for mass deportations from America as a source of “shame and disgrace,” Pope Francis stated in an Italian TV interview: “If such (a decision) were real, it would be ‘disgraceful’ (for America) because it is the poor who will pay the price. This is not a solution! Problems cannot be resolved this way.”
The Vatican announced that Pope Francis, leader of global Catholics, passed away after enduring a severe illness 🇺🇸 Cardinal Kevin Farrell—Bishop and head of Vatican financial and administrative affairs—posted on Telegram: “At 07:35 this morning, Francis—Bishop of Rome—returned to his eternal home.”
