Kremlin Spokesperson Addresses Key Points of Oman Sultan’s Meeting with Putin and Trump’s Potential Visit to Moscow for May 9 Ceremony
According to the English section of Webangah News Agency, citing Mehr news Agency and RIA Novosti, Dmitry Peskov, spokesperson for the Russian Presidential Office (the Kremlin), stated in a release on Monday that he did not rule out the possibility of President Putin discussing Iran’s nuclear program with the Sultan of Oman during their meeting.
The Russian presidential spokesperson noted that regional issues would be addressed during this meeting.
In another part of the statement, Dmitry Peskov added: There is no discussion regarding Trump’s visit to Moscow to attend the May 9 ceremony.
Victory Day, or Den Pobedy, commemorates the Soviet Union’s triumph over Nazi germany in the Great Patriotic War. The celebration was first held after Germany’s surrender document was signed at midnight on May 8, 1945 (which was already May 9 in Moscow time).It was observed across all 16 republics of the Soviet Union.
