Russia’s Permanent Representative to International Organizations in Vienna Announces: Iran-U.S. Talks Are Accelerating
According to a report by the English section of the Webangah News Agency, citing news agency Mehr, Mikhail ulyanov, Russia’s Permanent Representative to International Organizations in Vienna, stated in a Telegram post: The second round of talks between iran and the U.S. regarding Iran’s nuclear program took place on Sunday at the Omani embassy in Muscat. This meeting lasted approximately four hours. Unlike the first round of talks a week earlier, there was no direct contact between the two delegations. Oman’s Foreign Minister mediated these discussions.Russia’s Permanent representative to International Organizations in Vienna further added: While neither delegation commented on the results of the second round, preliminary assessments were entirely positive. Mikhail Ulyanov, continuing his remarks, stated: Iran’s Foreign Minister also pointed to his own assessment that the othre side has come to a better understanding of the principles and objectives of the negotiations. For the second meeting, this is indeed very significant. however, perhaps the most encouraging sign of progress is the joint decision to move toward specialized working groups on technical issues this Wednesday.
He added: According to Iran’s Foreign Ministry, the task of experts was to create a framework for future agreements. The other side considers these initial results from expert discussions—which will be evaluated this coming Sunday during the third round of talks held in Oman—as valuable. It can be said that negotiations between Iran and America are currently accelerating.
