According to a report by the English section of Webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and TASS, vatican Media Services announced that the farewell ceremony for Pope Francis—who died yesterday morning after battling an illness—commenced at Santa Marta Monastery near St.Peter’s basilica.
The official Vatican media released images from the ceremony showing the Pope lying in repose. According to Vatican media, his coffin and remains will be placed on public display at St.Peter’s Basilica today for a three-day farewell period.
