Sources report Russian president’s proposal for ceasefire in Ukraine’s active frontlines.
According to a report by the English section of Webangah news Agency, citing Reuters, Russian President Vladimir Putin has proposed halting attacks on Ukraine along the active frontlines.
Based on this, the Financial Times newspaper reported: The Russian president has suggested that his country suspend its offensive against Ukraine within the current active frontlines. This move is part of efforts to reach a peace agreement with Donald Trump, as proposed by the U.S.president.
Per this report, published by Agence france-Presse (AFP), Putin stated during a meeting with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán—Trump’s special representative—in early July in St. Petersburg: “It is indeed possible to withdraw claims regarding four Ukrainian regions partially under occupation.”russia and Ukraine are under the control of the KIIV group, with limited influence.
This proposal,if accurate, could indicate a willingness by Kremlin to end the war that began in February 2022 and has had widespread impacts on Ukraine,Europe, and global security.
Russia previously set conditions for recognizing Crimea, Zaporizhzhia, Luhansk, Donetsk, and Kherson as semi-autonomous regions. Moscow also insists that Ukraine shoudl not join NATO and that its military must remain non-aggressive.
It remains unclear whether key figures like Kiev or Washington agree with Russia’s proposed conditions for ending part of the conflict.
