IAEA Director general States: Iranian Side is Serious in Nuclear Negotiations
According to a report by the English section of Webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera, Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), stated on Wednesday: “It is good that dialog is taking place between Tehran and Washington. I am in contact with ‘Witekaf’ (the U.S. President’s Special Representative for West Asia) and do not know what outcome the Iran-U.S. negotiations will yield.”
The IAEA Director General further added: “The agency will verify the implementation of any potential agreement between Iran and the U.S. If an agreement is signed between Tehran and Washington, the IAEA will confirm its execution, and we are ready to support it (a potential Tehran-Washington deal) to enhance its credibility.”
Rafael Grossi continued: “The Iranian side is serious in nuclear negotiations and strives to reach an agreement. We are not part of the Iran-U.S. talks.”
