Iranian Foreign Minister in Exclusive Interview with Mehr: we Briefed China and Russia on Indirect tehran-Washington Talks
According to the English section of Webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, iranian foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, currently in China, stated in an exclusive interview with Mehr on tuesday regarding his expectations for meetings with China’s Vice Premier and his Chinese counterpart: “Today, I held two meetings. Significant topics were discussed in these sessions, and issues were carefully reviewed. Iran and China are strategic partners. During today’s meetings, significant matters were thoroughly deliberated.”
The Iranian Foreign Minister added: “I briefed them on the recent indirect negotiations between Iran and the U.S. I told them we regard China as our partner; thus, we have kept our Chinese colleagues informed of relevant developments.”We will address the progress related to the negotiations. China has supported indirect talks between Iran and the U.S. and is prepared to offer its assistance in this regard. This positive point was emphasized by China’s Foreign Minister.
Seyed Abbas Araghchi added: Other matters of mutual interest were also discussed. We have significant bilateral issues in our economic relations, all of which we reviewed together. Particularly in the energy sector,we are engaged in highly productive cooperation. beijing and Tehran are determined to continue fruitful economic collaboration. We share common concerns regarding regional issues, which we also examined. Another key focus of our consultations was the important and engaging matter of tariffs between the U.S. and China. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi elaborated on Beijing’s viewpoint regarding this issue…The Iranian official added: He spoke about BeijingS resolve to take a firm stance against the U.S., that is, against American bullying. Thus, very good discussions were held between us. We will continue these discussions and maintain bilateral consultations. We decided to proceed with these consultations. It was also agreed that after the third round of indirect talks between Iran and the U.S.(next Saturday), we would brief our Chinese counterparts and our friends in Russia on the developments.We have a very close relationship with both mentioned countries,and both of them support the ongoing negotiations.
