Russian Foreign Ministry Announces Sanctions against UK Parliament Members
The Russian foreign Ministry stated in a release that Moscow has added several members of the british Parliament to its sanctions list.
According to the English section of Webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and RIA Novosti, Russia’s Foreign Ministry announced on Wednesday the imposition of sanctions against a number of UK parliamentarians.
In its statement, the Russian Foreign Ministry referenced London’s confrontational approach toward Russia and confirmed the Kremlin’s decision to sanction several British lawmakers.
Russia’s diplomatic apparatus further noted that Moscow will continue expanding its so-called “stop list” in response to London’s adversarial actions.
This comes as David Lammy, the UK Foreign Secretary, previously stated that Britain intends to impose a new sanctions package against Russia.He described it as the largest such package since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine began.
Meanwhile, American and Russian diplomatic teams are negotiating for a peaceful resolution to the war in Ukraine.
