According to a report by the English section of Webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera, U.S. President Donald Trump stated on Wednesday: “We are very close to reaching an agreement regarding the Ukraine war.” Remarks by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy—that Ukraine does not legally recognize Crimea’s occupation—severely harm peace negotiations with Russia.The U.S. president added: “No one is asking Zelenskyy to recognize Crimea as Russian territory, but if he wants crimea, why didn’t they fight for it 11 years ago when Crimea was handed over to Russia without a single shot fired?”
Donald Trump further emphasized: “Ukraine’s situation is dire—he [the Ukrainian president] can make peace or fight for three more years before losing his entire country.”
