Lebanese Foreign Ministry Clarifies “Summoning” of Iranian Ambassador
Lebanon’s foreign Ministry Issues Statement on Summoning Iran’s Ambassador
According to a report by the English section of Webangah News agency, citing Mehr News agency and al Jazeera, Lebanon’s Foreign Ministry announced that it had informed Mojtaba Amani, Iran’s ambassador to the country, that he must respect diplomatic principles concerning the sovereignty of nations and refrain from interfering in their internal affairs.
The ministry added that the Iranian ambassador appeared at Lebanon’s Foreign Ministry headquarters after being summoned due to his recent public statements.
It is worth noting that Mojtaba Amani,Iran’s ambassador to Beirut, wrote on his X (formerly Twitter) account on Saturday: “The issue of ‘disarmament’ is a blatant American conspiracy. While Washington arms the Zionist regime with advanced weapons and missiles, it prevents other armies from being armed and strengthened. As soon as countries surrender and comply with disarmament demands, they become vulnerable to attack and occupation—exactly as happened in Iraq, Libya, and syria.”
He further emphasized: “The Islamic republic of Iran is fully aware of this conspiracy’s threat to regional nations’ security and warns others not to fall into the enemies’ trap.”
