Pakistan Takes Retaliatory Measures in Response to India’s Actions against Islamabad After Attack on Tourists in Delhi-Controlled Kashmir
According to a report by teh English section of Webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News agency and Al Jazeera, Pakistan has adopted retaliatory measures following actions by the Indian government in response to a terrorist attack against a group of tourists in the Kashmir region. India’s measures included suspending a 65-year-old agreement and closing the main border crossing between the two countries.
Earlier, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister stated that “the country’s officials, who have denied India’s accusations of involvement in the attack, will hold an emergency meeting today to respond to New Delhi’s moves.”
After this emergency meeting, Pakistan declared Indian military advisors in Islamabad as personae non gratae and gave them until the end of April to leave the country.Additionally, Pakistan took further steps…Pakistan has suspended all trade relations with India, including trade conducted through third-party countries.
According to Al Jazeera, Pakistan has also declared that any violation of Islamabad’s rights over the western river will be considered an act of war.
Additionally, Pakistan has closed its airspace to Indian aircraft. Al Jazeera reports that pakistan has emphasized that the number of staff at the Indian High Commission in islamabad will be reduced from 30 April, bringing the total down to 30 personnel.The attack on Tuesday in “Pulwama” is considered one of the deadliest incidents in recent history for this volatile region, resulting in the deaths of 26 tourists. Both India and Pakistan claim full sovereignty over Kashmir but each administers only a portion of it.
In a sharp response to the attack, India indirectly held Pakistan responsible. New Delhi has long accused Islamabad’s governments of supporting armed groups in the region.The accused and Pakistan have strongly denied it.
The Indian government, in response to the attack, has taken measures against its neighboring country, Pakistan. These actions include closing the main border crossing between the two nations, suspending a historic water treaty, expelling diplomats, and issuing an order for certain Pakistani passport holders to leave India within 48 hours.
