USS Truman Departs Region Amid Rising Tensions
U.S. Official Announces Upcoming Departure of Truman Aircraft Carrier from the Region
According to a report by the English section of Webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News agency, a U.S. official confirmed in an interview with al Jazeera that the aircraft carrier USS Truman will soon leave the Middle east region.
The official added that discussions are underway regarding replacing it with another aircraft carrier.
It is worth noting that Yemen’s Ansarullah leader had previously stated that the USS Truman had been forced into a defensive posture due to effective attacks by Yemeni forces.
The U.S. official also stated that the Trump management ultimately decided to bomb Yemen’s Ras Issa oil port.
They acknowledged that American spy drones had been shot down by Yemeni forces. Regarding Syria, the official said: U.S. forces in Syria have begun redeploying as part of reducing their number of bases there. The U.S.president has yet to make a decision on the fate of America’s military presence in Syria.
