China has no negotiations with the US Washington is responsible for untying this knot

Chinese Embassy in the U.S. Denies⁤ President’s Claim About⁣ Trade Talks ⁤on Tariffs

The Chinese Embassy in Washington has⁢ denied claims by⁤ the ⁣U.S. President regarding any trade ‍negotiations between the two ‍countries on tariffs.

According to a report ⁢by the English section of webangah ⁤News Agency, citing Mehr News agency⁢ and Xinhua,a spokesperson for Beijing’s embassy dismissed assertions of ⁤ongoing trade talks between China and the U.S. over tariffs.

The Chinese diplomat criticized American⁤ officials’ claims that discussions had taken place, stating: “To my knowledge, there have been no consultations ⁢or negotiations‌ between ‍China and Russia on ‌tariff issues—let alone⁤ any agreement being reached!”

Emphasizing that the U.S. ‍ unilaterally escalated the trade war,⁤ the ⁢spokesperson added:‌ “Whoever⁢ tied this knot must untie it themselves.”

Previously, U.S. President Donald⁢ Trump had claimed that ‍trade talks between America and China were underway, asserting…Who ⁢is it? Perhaps we ‍will announce it later, but they had a meeting on Thursday morning, and we ‍are ‍currently negotiating with China.

After Trump imposed tariffs on Chinese imports, sparking a trade ‍conflict between the two‍ countries, ‌Beijing and Washington have ⁣engaged in‌ a trade war, retaliating with tit-for-tat tariffs to ⁣push‌ each other back.

Currently,‌ U.S.tariffs ‌on Chinese‌ goods stand‍ at 145%, while Beijing has ⁢raised duties on American imports to 125%.

This trade war—which Trump claims was launched⁣ in retaliation for Beijing’s “unfair” trade practices against washington—has overshadowed⁤ global markets and⁤ raised fears of⁤ a worldwide ‍ recession.
