Syrian party head Damascus seriously seeks normalization of relations with Tel Aviv
Syrian Party Leader Reveals Al-Julani Regime’s Efforts too Normalize Ties with Zionist Regime for International Legitimacy
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Sputnik, Bassam al-Qutli, head of Syria’s Liberal Party, disclosed the Al-Julani regime’s attempts to normalize relations with the Zionist regime in pursuit of international legitimacy.
He added: “The new Syrian goverment understands that this legitimacy hinges on aligning with U.S. positions and advancing Washington’s interests in the region—including normalization with Israel. Damascus is seriously pursuing normalized ties with Israel.”
Al-Qutli stated: “Domestic reactions in Syria will depend on the nature of any agreements.”
He dismissed the likelihood of Turkish opposition to normalization between Al-Julan and the Zionist regime, further noting: “This normalization will likely occur thru Turkish channels rather than via the U.S. or another party, ensuring Turkey reaps its benefits.”
The Syrian Liberal Party leader emphasized: “It is unlikely that Israel’s far-right cabinet will relinquish claims over Al-Julan.”
He concluded: “Syria needs peace and stability to focus on economic priorities, meaning final negotiations on Al-Julan may be deferred to later stages.”
