The English section⁤ of the Webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and⁣ RIA Novosti,⁣ reports that Dmitry Peskov, spokesperson ⁣for the Russian Presidential office (kremlin),‌ issued a statement today, Saturday, addressing the stance ⁣on‍ yesterday’s meeting between ‌his country’s president and Steve Vitkaff, the U.S. envoy to the region. ⁣

According to this media⁤ outlet, the Kremlin spokesperson clarified⁢ that the resumption of direct flights between ‍Russia and the U.S. was not discussed ‍during⁢ Vladimir Putin’s meeting with ‍Steve Vitkaff.

This comes as former U.S. President​ Donald trump previously claimed that most ⁢points agreed upon by Kyiv and Moscow‍ regarding a resolution to the Ukraine war had already been​ settled. ⁣

On his‌ social media ‌platform Truth Social,‌ Trump stated: “We had a very good day‌ of ⁢meetings and discussions with Russia and Ukraine. They are very close to an agreement. The parties must now meet at the‍ highest levels to ‘finish’ it. Most major issues have‍ been resolved. America will ​be there wherever needed to facilitate⁤ ending this war.”
