Kremlin account of what was not discussed in Putin and Vitek meeting
Spokesperson for the Russian Presidential Office States Resumption of Direct Flights Between Russia and U.S. Was Not Discussed in Putin-Vitkaff Meeting
The English section of the Webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and RIA Novosti, reports that Dmitry Peskov, spokesperson for the Russian Presidential office (kremlin), issued a statement today, Saturday, addressing the stance on yesterday’s meeting between his country’s president and Steve Vitkaff, the U.S. envoy to the region.
According to this media outlet, the Kremlin spokesperson clarified that the resumption of direct flights between Russia and the U.S. was not discussed during Vladimir Putin’s meeting with Steve Vitkaff.
This comes as former U.S. President Donald trump previously claimed that most points agreed upon by Kyiv and Moscow regarding a resolution to the Ukraine war had already been settled.
On his social media platform Truth Social, Trump stated: “We had a very good day of meetings and discussions with Russia and Ukraine. They are very close to an agreement. The parties must now meet at the highest levels to ‘finish’ it. Most major issues have been resolved. America will be there wherever needed to facilitate ending this war.”
