Yemen warns of extensive oil spill in Red Sea due to US attacks
Yemen’s Ansarullah movement Warns of Major Oil Spill in Red Sea Following Recent US Attacks on Ras Issa Port in Hodeidah
According to a report by the English section of “webangah News Agency” citing Mehr News Agency and Russia Al-Youm, Yemeni officials have warned of a large-scale oil spill in the Red Sea caused by recent US attacks on the Ras Issa oil port in Hodeidah province.
Yemeni Foreign Minister Jamal Amer,in a letter addressed to the United Nations and its Secretary-General António Guterres,stated: “The American aggressors have destroyed civilian infrastructure at Ras Issa Port.”
He added: “Even more dangerously, the US aggressors have caused an environmental marine disaster, as large quantities of petroleum derivatives have seeped into the waters of the Red Sea and adjacent areas.”
Amer held Washington fully responsible for this crime at Ras Issa Port and its catastrophic consequences.
So far, there has been no response from Washington regarding this issue.
