According to the english section of “webangah News Agency” citing Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera, Canadian police reported that at least nine people were killed after a vehicle plowed into a crowd attending a street festival in Vancouver.
Local Canadian media earlier reported the incident without specifying casualty numbers, noting it occurred during a Filipino community street festival in Vancouver.
The suspect, aged 30, is currently in police custody. Authorities confirmed that besides the nine fatalities, several others were injured—tho the exact number remains undisclosed.
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney expressed shock over the “horrific incident” in a post on social media platform X.
An eyewitness told CTV news that the vehicle had been driving recklessly near the festival site before crashing into the crowd.
