Trump Zelensky ready to cede Crimea to Russia
U.S. President Claims Ukrainian Counterpart Is Prepared to Except Russian Sovereignty Over Crimea
According to a report by the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and France24, Donald Trump, the U.S. President, alleged that his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, is ready to recognize and cede Russia’s sovereignty over Crimea.
Trump also intensified pressure on Vladimir Putin, Russia’s President, stating that he must halt attacks and “stop the shootings” and sign an agreement to end the war that began in February 2022.
Trump’s claim follows his meeting with Zelenskyy at St. Peter’s Basilica on the sidelines of the funeral ceremony for Pope Francis, leader of the world’s Catholics in Vatican City.
When questioned about Zelenskyy’s insistence on not surrendering Crimea and whether he believed Zelenskyy was prepared for such a move, Trump responded…He briefly said: “I think so!”
The American president also claimed that during discussions at the Vatican, the parties briefly addressed the fate of this island, which was annexed by Moscow in 2014.
The 78-year-old U.S. president, who had asserted before his election victory that he would end the Ukraine war within 24 hours, has now failed to stop the conflict after more than 100 days into his second presidential term.
Kyiv and its Western allies fear that Trump may act in line with Moscow’s interests and positions.Though,in recent days,Trump also appears to have adopted a policy of intimidation and threats toward Putin!
