UNRWA: Flour reserves in Gaza have run out
Palestinian Relief Agency Warns of Depleted Food supplies in Gaza Amid Israeli Siege
The Palestinian Relief and Employment Agency (Anera) announced in a statement that food reserves in Gaza have nearly run out, citing the ongoing Israeli siege and restrictions on humanitarian aid.
According to a report by the English section of the Webangah News Agency, quoting Mehr News Agency,Anera highlighted the severe conditions caused by Israel’s blockade of Gaza and its obstruction of humanitarian assistance.
In a statement shared via the X network, Anera noted that Gaza’s food supplies had been fatigued several days prior. The World Food Programme (WFP) also confirmed that its food stocks were wholly depleted as of April 25.
The agency, affiliated with the United Nations, emphasized that nearly 300 trucks carrying life-saving aid for Gazans remain stranded due to access restrictions.Entry into Gaza is possible, but Israeli occupiers do not permit access.
This statement, while emphasizing the severity of the crisis in northern Gaza, confirmed that approximately 2.4 million people, including children suffering from severe malnutrition, endure dire food shortages and rely on daily aid from humanitarian organizations to survive.
The statement also highlighted that this situation marks the longest-lasting humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza’s recorded history. It stressed that these conditions reflect a collapse of humanity, market failures, and the destruction of food infrastructure—leaving Gazans in unprecedented distress, which had already been entirely shattered before this crisis.
The association called for an immediate end to the siege on Gaza and urged the issuance of permits for humanitarian aid to enter the region to protect innocent lives at risk in northern Gaza.
